Additive Manufacturing at INFINIDENT – How 3D Printing Can Really Boost Your Lab

Digitalisation is changing the dental world – and at INFINIDENT Solutions, we’re right at the heart of it. For over a decade, we’ve been using additive manufacturing – commonly known as 3D printing – to provide you with high-quality, custom-fit, and cost-effective dental solutions. But what exactly does this technology offer? And how can it really benefit you and your lab?

3D Printing: More Than Just a Trend

Additive manufacturing builds components layer by layer, unlike subtractive methods where material is removed. This opens up new possibilities in dental technology: complex geometries, individual restorations at scale, minimal material waste, and short production times – all standard at INFINIDENT. You get cutting-edge products with consistent quality and precision. And best of all, the benefits of this technology have a real impact on your daily work – in terms of quality, turnaround time, and cost.

Strong, Precise, Reliable: Laser Melting with CoCr

Working with crowns, bridges or partial denture frameworks? Then you’ll know the downsides of conventional methods – high material waste, time-consuming processes, and not always the best surface finishes.

With our laser melting (SLM) technology, we process CoCr powder into strong, dimensionally stable, and precisely fitting structures – in volumes that truly make sense for you. A single build plate can produce up to 400 crown frameworks or 30 partial denture frameworks in one run. It’s efficient, consistent, and reliable – every single day.

And when it comes to long-span bridges or complex removable frameworks, our 3D-printed results stand up to – or even outperform – traditional casting methods.

High-Precision Resin Models – Printed with Purpose

If you’re working with intraoral scans, you know how crucial accurate models are. Since 2009, we’ve been producing additively manufactured dental models using SLA and DLP technologies – with clean surfaces, high dimensional accuracy, and excellent stability.

Whether it’s sectioned models with pinned dies, Geller models, implant models or orthodontic versions – we manufacture according to your STL data, from exocad, 3Shape or any other software. Simply send us the file – and get your finished model delivered straight to your lab. Quick, easy and dependable.

Why Experience Really Matters

Yes, desktop 3D printers are widely available. But many labs quickly discover their limitations: poor fit, surface issues, a steep learning curve, and lots of trial and error.

At INFINIDENT, we’ve spent over a decade refining our additive workflows. With state-of-the-art industrial equipment, deep process knowledge, and strict quality control, we offer a level of precision and reliability that’s hard to replicate in-house.

In short: we take care of the printing – so you can focus on what you do best.

What About Splints?

A good question. We’re actively monitoring the development of splint materials and printing standards. But for now, we’ve chosen not to produce splints additively – current materials and tolerances simply don’t meet our quality expectations. Watch this space, though – things are evolving quickly.

The Bottom Line: Additive Means Smarter, Faster, Better

With INFINIDENT, you get all the benefits of professional 3D printing – without the investment or learning curve. That means better results, shorter lead times, and more time to focus on what matters most: your patients.

Curious? Let’s talk. We’ll show you how additive manufacturing can give your lab the edge it deserves.
