Reduction of VAT in 2020

Reduction of VAT in 2020

Dear customer, dear customer,

from 1 July, the rates of VAT will fall from 19% to 16% and from 7% to 5%. The reduction in VAT for six months is a key measure from the Corona package with which the Federal Government intends to cushion the economic impact of the pandemic.

What does this mean for you as a customer?
Provided that you meet the requirements for input tax deduction, nothing will change for the time being, as VAT is a transitory item. For example, for customers who are not entitled to deduct input tax (including customers from other European countries without a valid EU VAT ID) or small businesses (according to § 19 UStG), the price surcharge for semi-finished dental products will be reduced from 7% to 5%, and for commercial articles even from 19% to 16%. This means that a 5-part zirconium bridge, for example, will be reduced from a gross price of €441.91 to €433.65. What at first sounds like not much, can be quite profitable with corresponding quantities.

Is this advantage passed on to the customer?
INFINIDENT will not use this reduction for a hidden price increase, but will pass on the resulting advantages directly to our customers.

What is to be done?
You as a customer do not have to do anything. Rather, from July 1, 2020 you will be shown the correspondingly reduced VAT rate when calculating gross prices (prices incl. applicable VAT).
